Sarfaraz Ahmed surpasses the prior record of Malik
Pakistan’s former captain, Sarfaraz Ahmed has surpassed the prior record of T20 veteran, Shoaib Malik to become the most successful T20 captain of the country.
The 34-year old is currently donning Sindh’s jersey as a skipper in the ongoing National T20 Cup 2021. He brought the feat by defeating Northern on 1st October by the DLS method.
He was already steps ahead of Pakistan’s former head coach, chief selector, Misbah ul Haq, but not tops the chart leaving Malik behind to take over the phenomenal title.
Sarfaraz, as a captain has won 86 matches out of 140 with a win percentage of 61.4 whereas, Shoaib had a winning percentage of 63.9%.
It is not only his achievement in T20 Cricket but he has rendered much more to Pakistan in the shortest format. For instance, while mentioning his accomplishments, one cannot forget his determination in making men in green world’s number 1 T20 team. Pakistan stayed at the top of the rankings for a long tenure.
Moreover, under his command, Pakistan also won 11 consecutive T20Is, most by any team. Also, Sarfaraz clinched the Pakistan Super League (PSL) title in 2019 for the Quetta Gladiators.
The International Cricketers Association (ICA) is proud of its Tiger’s achievement in the format. Moghees Ahmed, the CEO, founder of the agency added that,
